How many logotypes are based on the über famous Helvetica?

They are part of our life, on a daily basis, but we hardly recognize the importance and the role of this typeface!

I have finally done the embossing induction

I’m finally relaxing a few days back home. I’ve been wandering in Milan and I visited the latest Cattelan’s exhibition, in Palazzo Reale.

It features only tree works by this provocative artist: Drummer Boy, La Nona Ora, Donna Crocifissa, and a fourth one in Piazza Affari, in front of the stock exchange, as shown in the photo.

I found really interesting the contrast in Palazzo Reale between those pieces and the unfinished building, which is undergoing renovations.

This exhibition caused the municipality great embarrassment for its content and the news on the main media;

Looking at the exhibits I don’t agree with those opinions, as you have to look for a deeper meaning, beyond the first impact you can have.

This result is typically achieved with a combination of heat and pressure, using a die.

You can easily create an embossed letter with a letterpress, and applying an higher pressure to the paper; in this case your creativity is limited to the set of letters present in the studio, but it you can still get nice results!
